Blurb

Perfect ass.
Perfect arms.

Perfect swagger.

They call Dash Wallace the Diamond King.
He’s the hottest commodity in baseball and in the bedroom.
When he runs the bases, every woman’s eyes are glued to his stunning body and a smile that puts the night lights to shame.

I’m no queen. I’m a regular girl with a regular job. I just watch him on TV and from the bleachers, season after season.

Girls like me grab a guy like that one in a million times.
My number just came up, and he is as spectacular in bed as he is on the field.
But there’s not a woman in the world who can distract Dash Wallace from the game. Not for a moment. Not even me.
Until the night I do. And everything changes.

Hardball is a SMOKING HOT, SEXY romance with a touch of angst and a ton of heart from CD Reiss. It's a fun, witty, full-length standalone meant for the over-eighteen crowd.

Review
5 stars
Dash Wallace. While he may be baseball's golden child, at the top of his game, he's not the arrogant guy you would expect. He hates cameras, doesn't do on camera reviews nor does he play up his accomplishments. He's also set in his ways, he has a plan and executes. It's the way his lives his life, controlled.
The ball field isn't the only place he's a god, the man knows his way around a woman's body and scores big there as well.
A man like that doesn't have to settle for plain Jane, the girl next door could never get his attention.
Or could she?

Vivian is a librarian, she adores kids and is cautious. She's set in her ways as well, likes to know the outcome before jumping in. She loves her daddy and baseball. Her entire world is centered around work and family.
She's attracted to Dash Wallace, not that she has anything to worry about there, she's nothing special and certainly not the type of woman to crawl out of his bed after one night.
Or would she?

After a school trip to meet the team something important to Dash is missing, he shows up at Vivian's library looking for it.
This starts a friendship between the two, one where two people you would never expect to have a thing in common find that they are more alike than either thought possible.
When Dash suggests she be his hometown girl it's not at all something she's up for. Unlike Dash she can't separate sex and her heart.
Will she miss out on what could be the best thing that's ever happened to her because she's overly cautious?
Can Dash change his ways for one woman even if it's bad luck in a line of work where repetition and "luck" play a huge role?

While sports romance has never been at the top of my must read list, Hardball may have changed my mind. I loved Dash & Vivian's story. Two people who seem so different aren't but it takes time to get to know each other enough to see just how similar they are. Insta love is not my thing and Hardball certainly isn't instant anything except attraction. I enjoyed getting to know the characters, seeing their flaws and fears. 5 stars really doesn't do this one justice.

Author Bio

CD Reiss is a USA Today bestseller. She still has to chop wood and carry water, which was buried in the fine print. Her lawyer is working it out with God but in the meantime, if you call and she doesn't pick up she's at the well hauling buckets.

Born in New York City, she moved to Hollywood, California to get her master's degree in screenwriting from USC. In case you want to know, that went nowhere but it did give her a big enough ego to write novels.

She's frequently referred to as the Shakespeare of Smut which is flattering but hasn't ever gotten her out of chopping that cord of wood.

If you meet her in person, you should call her Christine.
