My Review
4.5 stars
At 16yrs old Sophie's mom is remarrying and she's getting an 18yr old stepbrother.
Logan and Sophie are instantly attracted to each other which just can't work.
Logan tries to keep his distance from Sophie, moving out and not visiting often. And then tragedy strikes and they are thrown together by their grief.
Logan becomes Sophie's rock for the next few years, every time she's afraid or upset or remembering their past she calls him for support. She needs him so much even her boyfriend will call him to calm her down.
Once again Sophie comes home to find a heartbreaking scene which sends her straight to Logan's place to get away from it all and recover.
This is when things get tricky! Two people who have been attracted to each other for years are now living in the same house. One is still fighting the attraction while the other is more than willing to accept it for what it is and act on it.
Once they do act on their feelings it screws everything between them up and Sophie runs.
And yet again they land in the same place, only this time Logan is going to make Sophie pay for how she treated him.

I loved and hated this book. At times I wanted to strangle both characters, Sophie's indecision was understandable but after she gave it an the guilt hit her I'd have thought given a day or two to process she'd have talked to Logan considering the fact that he's been her rock her entire adult life.
And Logan's behavior, had I been Sophie I'd have kicked him in the balls a time or two. Cocky and vengeful he was such a prick and though eventually it got them talking I didn't like the way he handled things.
I wasn't sure how I felt about the step sibling thing, I've seen quite a few books with the same theme lately, one that I couldn't stomach, but I gave this one a shot. Stepbrother, Mine is nothing like the others I've read, I enjoyed the story and the steps it took to process and accept what the two felt for each other and how to handle it.

Author Bio

Mandy Lou Dowson was born and raised in a small town in Ireland, in 1983, and at this stage in life, she's pretty sure the town won't let her leave. Family is a huge deal to Mandy. She has three wonderful children (most of the time), and two Siberian Huskies who are each as naughty as the other – in fact, she's sure they egg each other on in silly cartoon voices when nobody is looking.

“Climb out the window and get covered in mud.”

“No, I did it last time. You do it!”

“R'uh, r'oh, here SHE is. Shhh.”

~

When she's not writing, reading, or plotting her next book -- or, you know, world domination – , she likes to relax with a few glasses of wine and some karaoke. You can usually find her procrastinating on social media of some sort, chatting to fans and talking nonsense.

Mandy started reading at quite a young age and her appetite for the written word has only increased with time. It would not be at all surprising to find her reading anything and everything from shampoo bottles to Edgar Allan Poe.

She is the author of three different genres of romance books. The Moon Bound series, which is in the Paranormal Romance genre, and is gathering rave reviews, and the Taboo series, which is Contemporary with a hint of the forbidden, the first of which has gathered very mixed reviews across the board, from one extreme to the other.

She has also made a foray into Dark Romance recently, with her first title in the genre, Retribution, releasing in Summer 2015.
