Review: No Apologies

No Apologies No Apologies by Jess Bryant
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Bomar boys, I just cannot get enough of them.
If you haven't met them yet, what are you waiting for?
No Regrets, Cash & Gemma's story was great, but Colt & Skylar in No Apologies are my favorite so far.

Every small town has that one family that's more savage than civilized. The ones that are more myth and legend than man. In Old Settlers, Oklahoma that's the Bomar boys. Wild, reckless and vicious, they skirt the line of criminal and trip over it more often than not. They are their own punchline: white trash but proud beyond compare. Dirty and dangerously sexy, it's best to steer clear of them or else risk your life... and your heart. These are their stories.

That first paragraph will hook me every time. The Bomar boys all have a horrible reputation. Their lives started out with a harsh father from day one and didn't get any better as they were growing up. The boys all seemed doomed to follow in the footsteps of their predecessors, that is unless they can find a reason to be better,

Colt's wanted that from the beginning. He's so protective of everyone he loves, he's taken the world on his shoulders to get Cash and himself out of the hell they knew and give them a shot at a legitimate, legal life.
But someone isn't content to sit back and let that happen. The deal Colt made may be his downfall.

Skylar is the sweet girl next door.
Well sweet is debatable, she's lusting after Colt even though she has a boyfriend.
But Colt's made it clear their just friends, he doesn't want to hurt her so he'll deny any attaction.
She on the other hand isn't as easily accepting of the fact that she can't get him out of her head and wants him. Badly.
And while things are going downhill in Colts life, some truths about his family come to light. He finds out the real reason his brother Remington disappeared years ago.

Skylar isn't the wilting wallflower thank goodness, yes she's feminine, yes she lets her man take care of things, to an extent. She's not one to sit back an allow those she loves to get hurt anymore than he is and this causes them to butt heads more than once. I love a strong heroine and we get that in Skylar, as well as a sexy, alpha protector in Colt.

As much as I was ready to beg for this book after reading book one, it's nothing compared to the need I have for the next story. I am so pumped to get Remy's story now!!
