Hit hard by the death of her parents, Paige Ryan needs to figure out what to do with her life. She moves to Whispering Springs, Texas, to be near her step-brother. But just as she starts to get her life on track, the last man she ever wanted to see again sends it right back off the rails.

Paige returns home to be near her step-brother after the death of her parents. She moves into a friends run down old home while trying to get her life back on track.
She'll be heading back to school in a few months and needs this time to regroup.

Cash has about reached rock bottom. After an injury takes him away from the rodeo he spends his time in a different woman every night and all the alcohol he can stand.
He's at a crossroads in his life, coming home and getting his act together is his only option.
He doesn't want to stay with his brothers so his brother offers his wife's old ranch house to him.

And cue the first fight!
Cash shows up in the house Paige is staying in, neither knowing a thing about the other being offered the same place to stay.
Cash is angry at the world an not fit for company. Paige wants to be nowhere near Cash, not after the one night stand long ago where he walked out on her.

The two eventually come to an understanding, staying in the same house shouldn't be a big deal, and Cash's brother wants Paige to stay and keep an eye on him, make sure he eats and is taking care of himself.
Cash gets off the bottle throwing himself into repairing the old home, meanwhile he and Paige start over as friends and it works for them.
Until hormones take over.
They agree to a short term affair, until she leaves for school in the fall.
As with most no strings affairs things go wrong, two people who thought they were of like mind when they started realize they can't do no strings, which causes more problems.

Could I love Cash Montgomery anymore than I do? Probably not, he's sin in a pair of cowboy boots.
And Paige is strong, stubborn and perfect for Cash.

Another great Montgomery book that leaves you wishing there was another one start as soon as you finish this one.
