Title: Waiting For You
Series: The Holbrook Series #1
Author: Jasmine Stevens
Release: February 5, 2019
Genre: Rural Romance
Eighteen years ago, Charlotte Denver left the quaint country town of Holbrook after a tragic accident. Now, she’s back in town to renovate her old family home, which will feature in the magazine where she’s employed as a journalist. Making the rundown house sellable will allow Charlotte to sever all ties with her tragic past and finally move forward with her life. That is until the one person she’d spent all these years trying to forget is contracted by her magazine’s editor to help her complete the job.
Will Beckett is no longer the twelve-year-old kid who used to play practical jokes on her, tease her and make her belly laugh. Now he’s a ruggedly handsome, sweet talking, successful builder. Despite Will’s wholesome country charm and sexy smile that makes Charlotte’s heart skip a beat, she’s determined to concentrate on the job at hand and protect her heart at all costs.
Will never thought he would see his best friend again, but now she’s back, as stubborn and strong-willed as ever. Her return reminds him all over again of everything she lost because of him, and he desperately wants her forgiveness. As they reacquaint with each other, Will becomes just as determined to reunite their friendship, and he’s set to win her heart.
Can Will break through Charlotte’s wall of defense or will his heart be broken again?
Blushing Book Reviews - “I read this book in the one sitting, it’s a page turner, tear jerker, nail biter, slow burn friends to lover’s romance.”
Goodreads Reviewer - “Real, Raw, Memorable & Sexy”
Goodreads Reviewer - “I highly recommend this book and I must say for a first novel Jasmine Stevens nailed it!”
Will took hold of her small hand in his and interlocked their fingers. Neither one of them looked away from one another. ‘So we’re clear, Lottie. I don’t feel pity or guilt when I see you. All I can think about doing when I see you, is this.’ Will leaned in close to Charlotte and lifted her chin up with a gentle brush of his hand. He dipped his head towards her and she felt the soft whisper of his breath on her lips as he moved in to kiss her.
A horrible accident separated childhood best friends eighteen years ago.
Charlotte moved away and made a life for herself attempting to forget where she came from and all that happened there. It's been years, she's different but she's coming home to refurb her old family home.
The last thing she expects is to have to work with the one man she wants to keep her distance from.
Will on the other hand thinks the moment she steps foot in town it's going to be easy to fall back into the way things used to be. His best friend is finally back and he's not going to let her go again...but sometimes what we want isn't enough.
There's alot of air to clear between these two, secrets and hurts that can't be undone but need to be brought to light if these two are ever to truly move on and get over the things that changed their lives. It's sweet with a bit of snark.
Waiting for You is highly engaging, well written and kept me turning the pages. I'm a new fan and can't wait to see what comes next in this series.
