Ricochet by Keri Lake

Title: Ricochet
Author: Keri Lake
Genre: Dark Romance
Release Date: July 9, 2015

The only sure way to destroy a man is to take what he cannot live without.

Three years ago, I had everything.

A beautiful wife.

A son.

A reason for living.

Until a ruthless task force, assembled under Mayor Michael Culling, with a brutal strategy to make the streets of Detroit ‘safe’, ripped away everything I loved in a deadly hunt called The Culling.

They tried to kill me, too. I wish they had. Now I'm cursed by the memories of that night, and the words I whispered to my dying wife.

A promise—to avenge the wrong and set it right.

I’m no longer Nick Ryder. I’m a masked vigilante. Faceless. Loveless. Fearless. A man with nothing left to lose—one who's seen the dark and violent truth behind the city’s flawless veneer.

Michael Culling doesn’t know who I am. Or what I want. All he knows is that I’ve kidnapped his beautiful wife.

An eye for an eye—isn’t that how the saying goes? And Aubree Culling is the perfect pawn to destroy him.

If she doesn’t destroy me first.

"Holy. Fucking. Hell. Mind is blown and I'm left reeling. I've pulled myself together and can now write the review this book deserves." ~ Sam's Ramblings
"Ricochet was my first foray into the world of Keri Lake and if I could describe her writing style based on this alone, the words Evil Genius come to mind. " ~ Smokin' Hot Book Blog

5 stars
Oh my where to start. Ricochet is my first Keri Lake book and it literally had me hooked on every word.
Ricochet is a dark, heart wrenching story that will have you all over the map emotionally. The twists and turns will shock and surprise readers all of which will plant Nick Ryder deeply into your mind. You won't want to put this story down.

Nick Ryder is on a mission to avenge the deaths of his family.
His story will rip your heart out, make you ugly cry and want to help him hunt down the evil that lurks behind closed doors in Detroit.

Aubree Culling is not who she seems, the darkness that she's survived is chilling and made me question how she didn't snap at some point.

Aubree was not what Nick thought she was, she definitely wasn't what he needed but gradually that changes and he begins to see that not everything is as he initially thought, scars can sometimes bind people together.

I cried. I honestly couldn't get Nick's loss out of my head as I read this book, it kept me thirsty for the vengeance he sought. I stayed up into the early hours of morning when I could barely keep my eyes open just to finish this book, I couldn't go to bed not knowing how it ended. It's been a long while since a book had me that addicted to it that I couldn't bookmark it until morning, but this one did.
I loved Ricochet and look forward to exploring the authors other books that I've somehow missed out on.
