The Colonel's Daughter is my first Amy Andrews book and I was pleasantly surprised. If your a fan of Harlequin romance novels then this is perfect for you.
Ivy thinks she's finally out from under her father's thumb, taking a year off after college to enjoy life, do what she wants until it's time to buckle down and find a job.
Unbeknownst to her daddy still has someone keeping her safe, just at a distance and not in uniform.

Ivy's father saved Seth's life so he owes him. Protecting the mans daughter should be a piece of cake, but working side by side with her for 3 months is slowly driving him insane. Pretending not to be the slightest bit attracted to her and keeping his distance seem to work for him until a situation arises that sends them into hiding together.
Once locked up in a hotel room, innocent Ivy decides to see if the man of her dreams shares her attraction. Having no idea the man is being paid by her father to protect her she knows he wants her but can't figure out why he keeps resisting. When the truth comes out sparks fly!!

Poor Seth, his honor won't allow him to give in and take what he wants. He feels he owes her father and touching Ivy would be betraying the man who saved him years ago. He hates lying and tries to avoid lying to Ivy throughout, he wanted her to know the truth but her father said no so Seth has no choice but to keep his mouth shut, his hands to himself and keep Ivy safe.

Loved the story, really loved Seth and came to adore Ivy by the end as well. She bugged me a tiny bit with her complaining about her over protective father and considering the family history it's justified, but by the end she had grown on me.
