Promises.
We all make them. Sometimes we break them. But what happens when the promise you break haunts your dreams, when that moment of betrayal echoes within every last beat of your heart?
Love.
Love is passionate, painful, and all consuming in the most brutal yet beautiful way. How many people have you said 'I love you' to? Five, ten, maybe no one? I've said that word to two men, but only one where I felt it.
Tragic.
This word sums up my relationship with Nicolas: devastating, painful, depressing.
A first love that should have lasted a lifetime, but I ruined with a stupid decision. Shakespeare would refer to Nicolas as my star crossed lover, and I should know that stories such as ours always end in tragedy, but even with that, I can't not love him, even if I'm married to someone else.

Review
5 stars
This one was questionable for me to read due to subject matter, my aversion to anything resembling infidelity, but something about this one had me checking yes in the review box and I'm grateful I did. Nicholas and Peyton's story is tragic, it's heartbreaking and aggravating and made me curse and want to yell at the characters and the author at times. But regardless of what happened, at the heart was a story of true love, the kind you can't forget no matter how you try.
What would you do if your entire life was turned upside down?
That's basically what happens to Peyton and Nicholas. They started dating in high school and after five years together have their first breakup. During that two week breakup someone makes a stupid mistake, from there a situation arises that cannot be ignored and it forces the longtime lovers apart.
Years later Peyton is married, and not truly happily. Nicholas is the one that got away, but he's much more, he's the only man to ever hold her heart and she's never forgotten him, never gotten over him and can't love her husband because another man walked away with her heart.
Nicholas, he's unable to really commit to a woman, no matter how good a person she is, Peyton is always in the back of his mind, he loves her and will never be able to love anyone else with her in his heart.
A Love So Tragic is THE story for me if your talking about true love, fated love, the kind rips your heart out when it's gone. At first I was skeptical, I'm a huge anti infidelity reader, but this love was not to be denied, over years and miles, relationships and losses, Nicholas and Peyton always belonged to one another no matter who's arms were holding them.
I will say at times I did get irritated at Peyton, she drug her feet where I felt she should just woman up an get it done but in the end it made for a great love story, one that wouldn't have been quite as meaningful in my opinion had she immediately made the changes I was hoping for.
This story deserves more than 5 stars to me, I read it in one day and believe me when I say you won't want to stop once you start. It sucks you into their lives until you feel like you can't breathe waiting for the next shoe to drop.
