Clam Jam by R.C. Boldt
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
With a title like Clam Jam you just know it has to be hilarious.
It was romantic, sweet, a little underhanded and yes funny.
I wasn't sure going in if I'd like this one, the whole lying from the start thing wasn't at the top of my must read list quite honestly. But the rest of the blurb was just enough to get me to read this.
Ryland & Maggie's story is similar to others in the best friends to lovers yet so different in the way they became best friends, it was based on Maggie's false sense of security, her believe in Ry from the beginning.
I won't go into anymore detail but I was on the fence through most of this book. I was torn between wanting them to have a relationship and wanting to smack Jack & Ryland's heads together for being so ignorant in the first place.
After alls said and done I give Clam Jam 4 stars. It's well written, flows easily and even though I wasn't initially a huge Ry fan, the story kept me engaged waiting for the other shoe to drop.
